The James Gang Are Winless No More

The Ennismore James Gang (1-10-1) traveled west to face the Owen Sound North Stars (2-8-1) at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound, Ontario. 

In their only meeting of the season, Owen Sound came away with a 9-3 victory.  Led by Gordie Power (3g,1a) and Mitch Gustavsen (2g,3a) the North Stars never trailed in this game.

The goalie match-up had Drew Hutchison in net for the James Gang facing Craig Wende in net for Owen Sound. 

In a very entertaining game, the two teams went back and forth all day long.  Adam Churchill (3g,2a), Tommy Collins (3g,2a), Taylor Dooley (2g,2a) and Carter Page (2g,3a) led the way for the James Gang.  Riley Thompson (3g,3a), Jordan Caskenette (3g,3a) and Tetsuya Yamada (2g,0a) led the way for Owen Sound. 

It looked like Ennismore was going to win in regulation time, but a late goal by Brody Caskenette sent the game to overtime.   A back and forth ten minutes had this game tied with under a minute left, until Tommy Collins scored with just 0:42 seconds remaining to send the James Gang to victory. 

To The Game:

The North Stars got on the board first when Tetsuya Yamada blasted a Brody Caskenette pass at 0:51 seconds, but Riley Caldwell answered quickly finishing a Carter Page feed for Ennismore at 2:42.

Yamada added his second goal of the game off a Jordan Caskenette pass at 5:00, followed by Caskenette himself firing in a Jordan McMillen pass 0:48 seconds later.

Tommy Collins got one back for the James Gang at 9:40, but Riley Thompson restored the Stars two goal lead at 10:27.

Tommy Collins scored his second of the game in transition off a long lead pass from Drew Hutchison at 11:11, but Gordie Power matched it converting a long lead pass from Craig Wende at 16:08.

The James Gang finished with a flurry.  Adam Churchill tallied off a Tommy Collins pass at 18:39, followed by Carter Page tying the game with just 0:10 seconds left in the period.

After one period, Owen Sound 5 Ennismore 5.

Second Period:

Owen Sound started the period on fire.  Riley Thompson converted a Wyatt Barfoot pass at 3:43, followed by Jordan Caskenette finishing a Riley Thompson pass 0:48 seconds later.  Jordan Caskenette added another off a Brody Caskenette pass at 7:23 to increase the North Stars lead to three.

Ennismore fought back with Adam Churchill scoring twice to bring the game within one goal.  His first was a blast off a Taylor Dooley pass at 9:02, followed by a low to low shot that found the corner again off a Dooley feed 0:21 seconds later.

After two periods, Owen Sound 8 Ennismore 7.

Third Period:

Taylor Dooley tied the game wiring a low to high shot unassisted at 2:40, followed by Carter Page converting a Riley Caldwell pass on the power-play at 4:19.

The North Stars tied the game on a Brody Caskenette goal with the goalie on the bench and a sixth attacker on there floor to send the game to overtime with just 0:08 seconds left.

After regulation, Ennismore 9 Owen Sound 9.

Overtime:

Riley Thompson got Owen Sound on the board finishing a Brody Caskenette pass at 4:41, but Taylor Dooley tied it off a Carter Page feed at 6:14.  

Tommy Collins got the game winner for Ennismore with just 0:42 seconds remaining for the James Gang's first win of the season.

Final score, Ennismore 11 Owen Sound 10.
